After successfully undergoing congenital heart disease treatments at the Save a Child Hospital (SACH) in Israel courtesy of the First Lady’s Operation Save the Children Foundation (OSCF), the seven children, accompanied by their parents on Thursday afternoon paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Madam Zineb Yahya AJJ Jammeh at her office at State House in Banjul.
The First Lady committed D2.5M to the treatment programme of the aforementioned children, whose parents were very grateful and thankful to the First Lady’s Foundation for coming to their aid.
In an interview with the Office of the First Lady’s Press Corp shortly after the meeting, Madam Fatou Mass Jobe-Njie, the Executive Director of the Foundation began by thanking Allah SWT that all the children are back home successfully treated.
According to her, the First Lady has the passion and is committed to the cause and welfare of the childre. Therefore, she added, God will always bless her interventions.
The families of the children, she went on, are all happy that their children are treated thanks to the intervention of the First Lady’s Foundation and calls for the support of the public to the realisation of the set objectives of the Foundation.
The desire of the First Lady, she said, is to see the children grow and become responsible elders who will meaningfully contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
The treatment of the children, according to the OSCF Executive Director, is among the many successful endeavours that the Foundation has undertaken in the past to complement the efforts of the GÔovernment.
