The Bakau Zonal and Sports Committee has suspended all nawettan its matches until after the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

"Both the league and knock-out competitions will resume immediately after the Ramadan. We have no choice, but to call off the matches since we continue to register low turn-out."

"Because of the Ramadan, many people hardly have the energy and desire to cheer-up the nawettan matches. It is also difficult to get officials to officiate the matches," a member of the Bakau Zonal  and Sports Committee told Observer Sports.

Both the league and knock-out competitions have reached their quarter-final stages. The league quarter-finals will be played between Thursday, October 18 and Sunday, October 21, 2007, while the knock-out quarters will run from October 23 to October 26, 2007.
