Bala Garba Jahumpa speaks

africa
Monday, November 05, 2007

Bala Garba Jahumpa, The Gambia's Ambassador designate to the Republic of Venezuela has denounced tribalism in politics, saying it is second to nothing, but backwardness and it will retard the   country's development process.

Ambassador Jahumpa, who was also part of the APRC campaign committee for the upcoming Local Government elections made this remark at a meeting held at Brikama-Ba,   Central River Region, attended by hundreds of APRC party supporters on Thursday.

Bala Garba Jahumpa added that the development trend of President Jammeh's government is second to none in Africa . "It is the duty of every Gambian, therefore, to complement the Gambian leader's efforts to attain the objectives of   Vision 2020".

He cited certain war-torn countries as a result of tribalism in politics and then urged Gambians to graduate from tribalism in politics.

On the upcoming Local Government elections, Bala Garba Jahumpa, alias, Action Man, urged APRC militants to go all out and massively vote for the APRC sponsored candidates.

For her part, Aja Nyimasata Sanneh-Bojang, urged APRC Constituency Committees and Divisional Committees, who are responsible for selecting Councillors to empower women, "by selecting them if they apply and certify all the criteria".
