DoSH slams a ban on infant formula milk

The Jammeh Foundation for Peace Hospital in Bundung yesterday received hospital materials from a philantropic association called the Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Association (GRA). The donated items include mattresses, bed sheets, detergents and other hygiene related materials.

In handing over the materials, David Marsdan, a Scottish national who is also the manager of the Chimpanzee centre in the Niaminas, Central River Region, informed the gathering that his association is cognisant of the fact that the Jammeh Foundation for Peace hospital is playing a prominent role in uplifting the health status of Gambians. Mr Marsdan noted that the architect and initiator of the hospital project, President Yahya Jammeh, is an icon, which warranted him to render a helping hand to the hospital. He informed the gathering that his association has embarked on numerous projects in the Central River Region amongst which are the rehabilitation of the Sambel Kunda Primary School, the sponsoring of fourteen students at the Gambia College to study equine care and management and formation of the Gambia Horse and Donkey Association. He urged the management to put the donated materials to good use.

In receiving the items, Kebba Manneh, the chief executive officer of the hospital, on behalf of President Jammeh, the hospital management board and the staff, thanked the donor for the gesture, noting that the donated items came at the right considering the numerous patients the hospital admits.

Manneh assured the donor that the materials would be used judiciously for the interest of posterity.

The gathering was attended by the management, staff and the community of Bundung.
