Congratulations Major General Tamba!

Editor,

It is with great admiration that I write to congratulate you, Major General Lang Tombong Tamba, on your latest promotion. I am quite convinced that your hard work, dedication to service, loyalty to the nation, and your admirable tolerance for your colleagues, is the sole reason for your continuous promotion.

Since you took over the mantle of leadership of the Gambia National Army, Gambians have seen unprecedented development in our proud national armed forces; in terms of their attitude to civilians, professionalism, and adherence to their role in the society. It is in your term of office that we have seen such a high level of satisfaction among men of the service, when it comes to fair treatment.

You are indeed a pride to The Gambia, as you have not only satisfied us at home, but also internationally. The performance of Gambian soldiers on peacekeeping missions in war zones has become increasingly recognized thanks to your admirable leadership endeavor.

There is no doubt that the commander-in-chief wastes no time in rewarding you with what you truly deserve.

I want to conclude with a prayer that Allah, the almighty, grants you long life and prosperity. May He guide you throughout your term of service at the helm of the nation's security service.

Lamin Kejera
