Thursday, April 24, 2008
Gilkock Football Academy, Brufut Branch, on Saturday April 19, donated a sum of D1,000 to the Brufut Health Center and Brufut Lower Basic School at the academy's training ground. The donation, according to the public relations officer, Sang Mendy, is to make a contribution to the social development of the Brufut community.

Mendy said donating to the these two institutions means donating to the social lives of many people, taking into consideration the number of people who might benefit from the donation'.

For his part Ousainou Drammeh, a senior teacher, at Brufut Lower Basic School, who deputised for his head mistress, thanked the academy for the gift and promised that the money will be wisely utilised. Drammeh also use the occasion to commend the coaches of the academy and their interns for their good deeds in the community.

In conclusion, Drammeh urged the interns of the academy to continue training hard and be obedient to each other.

Isatou Damhpa, head of the Brufut Health Center, also thanked the academy for the donation. Miss Dampha noted that it is difficult to run football and noted that an academy that can make such donation did not only deserve thanks but prayers as well'.

Other speakers at the presentation ceremony were Abdoulie Jawara, secretary of Brufut Youth and Sports Development Committee and Kebba S Camara, an intern, who gave the vote of thanks.
