Samger send title warning

Division One league returnees, Samger, draw goalless with Steve Biko in an action-pack encounter at the Independence Stadium. Despite the sharing of the points, Samger's last night performance signaled the Serrekunda East side have all it takes to clinch the title.

Samger still maintain a deserve two-point lead on the table and could even widen the gap if they can get anything from their next weekend's game-in-hand against fellow contenders, Wallidan.

Yesterday's encounter was a fascinating tie, marred by good technics from both sets of players, though Steve Biko were lucky to have escaped with a point.

Samger dictated the pace of the game creating string of scoring chances.

Striker Haruna Jammeh's dipping shot hit the woodwork in the first interval and the athletic striker could have turned the result in Samger's favour in the very last minute  when his stunning header went just inches from the woodwork.

Samger's crafted flank player, Ousman Jassey, commonly known as Waterman was admittedly the Man of The Match, as he engined almost every Samger attack towards Steve Biko's territory.

Meanwhile, Wallidan have failed to cut the gap on Samger after a 1-1 draw with Hawks at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium yesterday.
