Bakau Utd Daddy Gai's return

africa » gambia
Monday, May 05, 2008
Bakau United's versatile striker, Daddy Gai, scored his side's only goal in their 1-0 win against Gambia Ports Authority on Saturday, to signal his return to domestic league after spending some time on the side line.

Bakau United played the better part of the first round without Daddy Gai, as they endured a deteriorating performance that saw them won only a game in eleven league matches.

However, the Bakau club have made a promising start to the second round - thanks to the effort of four-time First Division Golden Boot winner, whose first-half goal helped Bakau United grasp the whole three points.

Speaking to Observer Sports shortly after the game, Daddy Gai revealed that the vital victory was a sign that things could improve.

"After the win everyone was happy. It was a very important win for us, considering our current position on the league table. We hope to go ahead and win more games," he said.
