Well done, Isatou Joof-GagigoMonday, May 05, 2008 Editor, Please allow me a space in your widely read Newspaper, to express my profound gratitude and appreciation to Mrs Isatou Joof-Gagigo, Headmistress of Sanchaba Sulay Jobe Lower Basic School. Mrs Joof-Gagigo has proven beyond doubt her love for this country and her tireless efforts towards improving the socio-economic development of this country, especially in the education sector. Since she took over Sanchaba Sulay Jobe Lower Basic School, in 2002, she has completely transformed Sanchaba LBS into a modern school and provided excellent and quality facilities for students in the school. From a three (3) classroom blocks, which she met in the school, she was able to construct over 22 classrooms, well furnished and fenced, with a modern kitchen, a modern library, electricity and water for the school, telephone, a sickbey for sick students, food programme for student's breakfast and lunch in the school, a new nursery school called "Bommel Nursery" for Sanchaba LBS, Scholarship for most students and, above all, a well furnished computer lab with internet facility and a projector for the students. All these achievements and development projects were done through her initiative and the support she received from the Department of State for Basic and Secondary Education, SES Trust Fund in UK, friends and other philanthropists, among others, who cherish the school. Presently, she has a lot of development plans to improve the welfare of her staff and students and she is working tirelessly towards achieving them. What a great Gambian woman who has really demonstrated a key sense of dedication, hardwork, commitment and, above all, patriotism towards improving the socio-economic development of The Gambia, as well as achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015. She is indeed a shining example among Gambian women and a headmistress par excellence, who is worth emulating. Thank you, Isatou Joof-Gagigo. May God bless you abundantly. by Assan Sallah Old Jeshwang Author: DO | Media Actions |
