Officials of Comium Gambia Ltd, one of the most popular GSM mobile communication Companies in town, yesterday afternoon, for the first time in The Gambia, presented a cheque of D30,000 to three patients, admitted at the BAFROW Medical Centre in Serrekunda.  The three patients include; Fatou Sey from Tujereng village, Jonkong Jarjue and Arabiatou Gibba, both natives of Mandinaba Village, Kombo East, Western Region.  

The Comium officials, led by Rabiatou Ceesay, Senior Communications Officer of Comium, also donated mugs, calendars, caps and T-shirts to the patients at the BAFROW Medical Centre in Serrekunda.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Josephine Osileh, Sister in Charge of the Medical Centre, welcomed the Comium officials to the centre.

She said BAFROW is an NGO that supports the less privilege, care for patients, especially the outpatients and also provides antenatal and home based services, among others.

"The centre has an Ambulance and a laboratory for medical checkup and we are making all efforts to complement government's strides in national development by reaching out to the people and seek for funds for some of our patients from private individuals and companies like Comium", she remarked.

Ms Osileh expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to Comium for their support.

For his part, Dr Hassan Azadeh, Senior Consultant, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at BAFROW said, since he started working with the NGO (BAFROW) for almost two years ago, they have been treating patients with different diseases and complications.  He added that some of these patients required urgent assistance.

Dr Azadeh thanked Comium for their timely intervention.  

Rabiatou Ceesay, Senior Communications Officer at Comium, thanked the staff of Bafrow for their warm and friendly welcome.

"As we all know that health is a prerequisite for every Gambian and we are here in collaboration with BAFROW to save three women's lives.  They are all here and they will have their operations done for them by the end of this week', she remarked.

"Comium is a company that has gone beyound just been another GSM operator in the country, we are putting ourselves everywhere and we are complementing government's efforts in the health sector", Comium's Senior Communications Officer revealed.

She informed the gathering that Comium wants to put a smile on every Gambian's face and would not only concentrate on giving best services to its customers, but will also contribute to many areas of national interest.

"We are here for the people and we will do anything possible to satisfy them.  Each of the three women will receive D10,000 for their operations", Ms. Ceesay disclosed.

The three patients (Fatou Sey, Jonkong Jarjue and Arabiatou Gibba) also expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to Comium for helping them to save their lives.  The patients also thanked Bafrow for their efforts.  

Ayouba Jaiteh, husband to Fatou Sey (one of the patients), Imam Barham Jobe of Serrekudna, Jainaba Manneh and Musa Sey, all expressed sincere thanks to Comium for such a worthy cause.

At the end of the ceremony, Rabiatou Ceesay, on behalf of Comium Company, presented a cheque of D30,000 to Josephine Osileh, Sister in Charge of the Medical Centre for the three patients.

She (Rabiatou) was accompanied by Fatoumatta Yaffa, Communication Officer at Comium and Linda Omenihu, Field Promoter at Comium.
