New gov't quarters planMonday, July 07, 2008 Pierre Kujabi Attepa, a Senegalese architect and tycoon, on Friday, presented the new design of the proposed Gambia government 'Quarters Plaza', to Dr Aja Isatou Njie-Saidy, the vice-president and secretary of state for Women's Affairs, in her office at State House, Banjul. This plaza model project is estimated at ?50 million, including a giant conference center, that would accommodate at least 1,000 people. It is supposed to house all government ministeries. Speaking at the meeting, Mr Kujabi said the multi-million Euro plaza has been designed in achitectural fashion that can help in preventing coastal erosion, beautify Banjul, as well as attract investment, which will constitute a major boost to The Gambia and its economy. Kujabi expressed delight at successfully completing the design and promised that the goals of the plan would be achieved. In her response, Vice-president Njie-Saidy thanked Mr Kujabi on behalf of The Gambia government for the new plan. The vice-president assured Mr Kujabi of her government's continued support, saying that the project would go a long way towards elevating the image of the capital city.
