Slok Air takes on Gambia Electrical

Monday, August 11, 2008

Slok Air International Gambia Limited has filed a civil suit against the Gambia Electrical Company for the recovery of a sum of over D57,000 being rent due to the said company.

According to the particulars, Slok Air is claiming the sum of D57,870, being rent owed by the defendant (Gambia Electrical Company) after several demands to no avail, with 25%  interest per annum as of 18 February, 2008.

When the case was called before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Kanifing Magistrates Court on Friday, Alfred Audu, who represented Slok Air International, said he would ask for an adjourment on the grounds that the company's lawyer, Awa Sisay-Sabally has traveled to the United States and will be back very soon.

However, Gambia Electrical officials were absent at the sitting.

At that juncture, Magistrate Mbake granted Alfred Audu's request and then adjourned the case to September 15, 2008.
