The Bundung Magistrates Court, presided over by Magistrate BO Jobe, on Monday, issued a bench warrant for the immediate arrest and detention of one Alhagie Sowe and his surety.

According to the charge sheet, Alhagie Sowe presented himself as a member of The Gambia Police Force on 20 July 2007 at Tallinding in the Kanifing Municipality.

When the case was called, police prosecutor, 758 Sarr, applied for a bench warrant for the accused, Mr Sowe, and his surety.He told the court that the accused had earlier pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him but had since then absented himself from the court.

Magistrate BO Jobe in his ruling ordered for the immediate arrest and detention of Mr Sowe and his surety. The case was adjouned to August 25.
