Musa Suso granted bail

africa » gambia » banjul
Monday, August 04, 2008
Musa Suso, the former National Assembly member (NAM) for Kombo North, was, last Friday, granted a court bail to the sum of D5,000 by Senior Magistrate Kayode Olajubutu of the Banjul Magistrates Court.

This decision was reached after the prosecuting officer, ASP Badjie of the Banjul Prosecution Unit, applied for a short adjournment in order to acquaint himself with the case file before he could proceed on the case.

Sheriff Tambedou, who held brief for Lawyer Lamin Jobarteh, did not object to the application of the prosecution officer, but urged the court to grant bail to his client whom he described as a responsible Gambian.

The senior magistrate granted the application accordingly and adjourned the case to August.
Mr Suso is being tried for giving out false information.
