Heavy winds recently destroyed several houses in some parts of the Central River Region.

According to our Janjangbureh correspondent, the wind was accompanied by a heavy downpour  which destroyed some foodstuffs and households.

Alhagie Ganyie Touray, the governor of Central River Region, appealed for assistance to alleviate the hardship of the victims. He said if disasters occur at this time of the year, the victims suffer a lot because their crops are yet to be harvested.  Governor Touray, on behalf of the government, expressed his sympathy to the affected families.  He also called on the victims to be patient as everything is being done to assist them.
