The Kanifing Municipality Council recently launched its local organising committee (LOC) for the forthcoming NAYCONF to be held in Farafenni (NBD) from the 16th-24th December 2008.

In his launching statement, the Lord Mayor of KMC, Yankuba Colley challenged the LOC members to be patient and committed to their terms of reference. He assured the LOC members that his council will do everything for to ensure participation in the 2008 NAYCONF.

For his part Pa Malick Ceesay, executive secretary of NYC, said all hands should be on deck for the success of NAYCONF.  He said councils are responsible for the transportation, feeding and provision of gear for their participants. He disclosed that NAYCONF 2008 will cost over three million dalasis (D3m).

The launching was attended by youth leaders, youth groups, staff of KMC and was chaired by  Isatou Bah.
