'Robber' gets D150,000 bail bondTuesday, September 09, 2008 Principal Magistrate Buba Jawo of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, yesterday, granted a court bail to one Gibril King,, an alleged robber, at a sum of D150,000 with one Gambian surety. When the case was called in the open courtroom and the charge sheet read to him, Mr King denied the charge levelled against him. Mr King was charged with robbery under Section 272 of the Laws of The Gambia. The alleged offence is punishable under Section 273 of the Criminal Procedure Code. According to the particulars of the offence, on or about 3rd September, 2008, at New Jeshwang in the Kanifing Municipality, Gibril King, attacked one Momodou Bailo Barry with the intention to rob and took away from him the sum of D275 and a radio transistor valued at D200, all amounting to D475. However, Mr King denied the charges and Police Prosecutor Sub-Inspector Fadera applied for an adjournment to enable him to call more witnesses.
