The African Solidarity for Action (ASFA), a non-profit making organisation, donated antibiotic medical drugs to four health centers and one hospital, yesterday at their office situated at Kairaba Avenue.

ASFA is an organization fighting against poverty, illegal migration, marginalization, war and poverty on the African continent. During the presentation to the five beneficiaries: the Jammeh Foundation for Peace Hospital in Bundung; Serekunda Health Center; Somita Health Centre in Foni Brefet; Jahally Health Centre in CRR and Demba Kunda Health Centre in URR, Sainey Jarju, director of ASFA, said "the antibiotic drugs have come at an opportune time when  the development of the medical system has been prioritised. Now people suffering from infections will have greater access to the drugs they need." He thanked the Association Attaf Girona, Catalonia, Spain, for their generosity in providing them with the drugs.

Adama Mbye, coordinator of ASFA, said their primary aim is "to collaborate with health care facilities, through their experts, to seek solutions to health problems". Haddy Sanyang, officer-in-charge, Serekunda Health Center, said "Drugs are used in the treatment of conditions like malaria, pneumonias, gastro-entritis, skin infections, TB among other diseases". Ansumana Jammeh, executive director of the Jammeh Foundation for Peace did the presentation of the drugs to the five beneficiaries.
