Christian leadership training underway

africa » gambia
Wednesday, March 18, 2009
A five-day Global Christian Leadership Training began last Monday at the Gambia Pastoral Institute, along the Kairaba Avenue.

The training, which brought together participants from various denominations in The Gambia, is aimed at equipping them through the Word of God. Speaking at the opening ceremony, the acting Sierra Leone High Commissioner to The Gambia, Duwani Lurgay, said global leadership encompasses every part of the world. He said the human race today is faced with many challenges and that God's divine intervention is needed in order to solve these crises. He urged participants to make best use of the training so as to changes lives positively.

Rev Joseph Uwareme, the founder of Global Leadership Training and president of the ministry, said this is the third edition of Global Leadership Training in The Gambia and the ministry focuses on training Christian leaders mainly in the areas of integrity, personal development and emphasis on how to take care of their congregations. He said they will continue to come to The Gambia because the response here is always positive.

He prayed for the people of this country and its leadership for God's divine protection. The opening ceremony was graced by Rev Alieu Bayo of the Banjul Bible training center, Evangelist Isaac Dave and other religious leaders.
