Wednesday, April 01, 2009
Modou Lamin Sey, a driver charged with causing the death of one Momodou Bah, on Tuesday, appeared before Kumba Sillah-Camara, acting principal magistrate of the Bundung Magistrates Court.

According to the particulars of the offence, on the 23rd of March 2009,  along the Bertil Harding Highway in the Kanifing Municipality, Modou Lamin Sey drove a taxi (BJL 8778 E) in a rash or negligent manner thereby causing the death of Momodou Bah. When the case was called, Modou Lamin Sey informed the court that he would like to seek the services of a counsel at his own expense.

The magistrate sent him to remand after a request from the police prosecutor, Sergeant 1042 Kujabi, for the accused to be denied bail as he is likely to flee. The case was adjourned to Wednesday April 8 for plea taking and hearing of the case.
