One Abdoukarim Ceesay, a native of Jarumeh Koto  based in the United Kingdom last Monday donated sporting gears and footballs worth over forty thousand dalasi to five Lower Basic Schools in the Central River Region North at a presentation ceremony held at Jarumeh Koto Basic School.

The schools that benefited were Dobo Lower Basic, Kunting, Kibiri, Kerr Sait Maram and Jamali Lower Basic Schools respectively. Handing over the materials, Abdoukarim Ceesay said his aim is to develop sport in the region but will start it at the grassroots level.

He highlighted the impressive performance of The Gambia national team in the just concluded qualifying round of the World and African Cup of Nations.  He said that he  also intends to construct a classroom block for Kayai Nursery School.

The principal of Jarumeh Basic Cycle School, Alhagie S Camara, thanked the donor for his immense support. He pointed out that the donated materials will go a long way in improving sports in the area. He assured the donor that the donated materials will  be put into  good use.

Mr Oscar Mendy, head teacher of Dobo Lower Basic School said this is the second time Abdoukarim is helping the schools and commended him for  his generosity.
