Honourable Fatoumatta Jahumpa-Ceesay, the Speaker of the National Assembly, yesterday received at her office, members of the Armitage Ex-students' Association.

Giving a brief background information on the association, its president, Karamba Jawla, disclosed that it was formed by some ex-students of Armitage Senior Secondary School, and that it now has one hundred and fifty registered members. The purpose of their meeting the Speaker, he said, was to formerly welcome her to the association as an honourary member and adviser. For his part, Assan Sallah, public relations officer of the association, said that the objective of the association is to enhance the welfare of the students of the school.

According to PRO Sallah, over the years, they have been visiting the school annually, especially during speech-and-prize-giving ceremonies when they often make donations to the school. "We really appreciate your effort in national development. Even people outside this country recognise this fact, and this is why we want to welcome you into our association as an honourary member, and thank you for accepting our offer," he noted.

In return, Speaker Jahumpa-Ceesay who is also an ex-student of Armitage Senior, thanked the association for the initiative. She confirmed her acceptance of the offer and expressed hope that they will continue to work towards national interest. She then described Armitage Senior School as one of the best schools in the country, urging the members to do all they can to nurture that reality in the students. She then advised them to believe in themselves and work actively.
