Bakau United continue their unbeaten run in the Gambia Football Association First Division League with an impressive 3-1 win over division one newcomers, Brikama United, at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium on Saturday.

The convincing win helped Bakau United to maintain their position on the summit of the table with 11 points, 2 points ahead of second-place Samger who were held to a goalless draw by Gamtel yesterday. Striker Ebrima Camara scored the first hat-trick of the season to give relegation candidates now turned potential title contenders a perfect lead before Brikama grabbed a late consolation goal through Ebou Kanteh in the 83rd minute.

Talismanic forward, Pa Amadou Gai, commonly known as Daddy Gai, set up Ebrima Camara to open the scorings in the 32nd minute. The United side extended the tally in the 56th minute when Camara headed home Lamin Fofana's  weighted cross. Camara made it a  hat-trick in the 75th minutes, and in effect leap-frogged striker duo Pa Amadou Gai and Pa Modou Ngum on the scoring chart with four goals in five matches. Elsewhere on Saturday, Africell-Sait Matty beat mighty Hawks 1-0 to earn their second successive win in as many games.
