Kudang Ward by-election slated

The Independent Electoral Commission has announced the date for the by-election for Kudang Ward in the Janjangbureh area council, following death of the former councilor of that ward, leaving the seat vacant.  

According to a press release received from the Commision, signed by its chairman, Alhaji Mustapha L Karayol, nomination of candidates will be held on Thursday 30th April 2009 at the IEC regional office in Janjangbureh between 8:00am to 4:00pm, and Thursday 14th May 2009 will be the polling date.

The release states that prospective candidates can collect nomination forms from both the election house along Kairaba Avenue and the regional office in Janjangbureh, and it concludes that campaigning commences on Monday 4th and ends on Tuesday 12th May 2009.
