africa » gambia » brikama
Wednesday, December 31, 2008
The Brikama Magistrates Court presided over by Pa Harry Jammeh yesterday convicted one Modou Manneh for stealing from the dwelling house of one Fafa Sanyang of Mandinaba.

According to the facts narrated by First Class 2294 Jammeh, the accused in November this year went to the house of the complainant and stole items worth D3600. He said the accused was later arrested and brought to the Mandinaba Police Post where he was charge with stealing.

The accused did not deny the facts stated by the policeman. In delivering the judgment, the magistrate said the court would sentence him to a mandatory jail term of 3 months with hard labour and further ordered him to pay a compensation of D5000 to the complainant, in default to serve another 3 months imprisonment term.
