Yaya Whan, the newly elected National Assembly member for Nianija Constituency in the Central River Region, was last evening sworn-in at the National Assembly Chambers in Banjul.

Subscribing to the oath of office, Mr Whan said that he will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the state and execute his National Assembly duties without fear or favour, affection or illwill.

It could be recalled that Mr Whan won massively against his NRP opponent in the 18th December Nianija polls by 1507 to 974.
