New Town L.B.S lift the trophy

The ongoing football championship for lower basic schools has come to an end as Brikama New Town LBS clashed with Nuru Din Islamic LBS of Latrikunda in Bakau last Friday.

The talented young stars of both teams demonstrated extraordinary skills in the presence of hundreds of fans, before New Town LBS's superstar, Lamin Ceesay, openned the scoring after a long pass in the 19 minutes of the game to give opportunity to his fans to celebrates.  A minute later, Bakary Sowe of New Town LBS registered his name on the score sheet with a penalty kick, breaking the hearts of the Nuru Din's LBS fans.

The first half of the game went in favour of the New Town LBS as Lamin Ceesay recorded his seconder to trace their opponent 3-0. But Nuru Din's Lamin Jallow capitalized on a scramble to register a super goal in the 29th minutes of the game, and 17 minutes later he double he double for his score.

Speaking to Daily Observer shortly after the match, the head coach, New Town LBS, Lamin Bajo, attributed the secret behind his side's success to diligence and cooperation. As the winners, they went home with a trophy, medals football and jerseies
