Thomas Kojo Quaison, deputy editor-in chief at the Daily Observer, left Banjul, today, to attend the second ECOWAS Business forum in the Republic of Burkina Faso.

The sub-regional business forum is expected to last from the 12 to 14  February 2009, and it will be held at the Ouaga Centre, Wagadougu. The forum will bring together senior officials from within the sub-region of West Africa and beyond, as well as journalists, especially financial reporters, drawn from member states and beyond.

Thomas Kojo Quaison holds a BA in English Language from the University of The Gambia (GTU). Speaking to the Daily Observer, shortly before his departure, Kojo thanked the management of the Observer Company, especially its managing director, Aja Neneh Macdouall Gaye, and Mr Andrew Dacosta, deputy managing director, for according him the opportunity to attend the forum.

He promised to live up to expectations, saying the forum will greatly boost his moral and skills on financial reporting. He described financial reporting as another challenge in the world of writing, but that with such training "one is assured of living up to expectations."
