The Gambian leader, Professor Dr Alhaji Yahya Jammeh, yesterday morning, left Banjul for Abuja, Nigeria, where he is currently attending the summit of the Heads of State and governments of the Economic Community of the West African States.

Professor Jammeh, who was accompanied by a high-powered delegation, joined other West African leaders to discuss issues pertinent to the affairs of the sub-region.

President Jammeh was seen off at the Banjul International Airport by the vice president and secretary of state for Women's Affairs, Aja Dr Isatou Njie-Saidy, the speaker of the National Assembly, Honourable Fatoumatta Jahumpa-Ceesay, secretaries of state, senior government officials, as well as service chiefs.
