Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Amir of State of Qatar, has written a letter acknowledging receipt of a congratulatory message from the Gambian leader, Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, on the occasion of the National Day celebrations of the Gulf state.

The letter reads:
Your Excellency,
On behalf of the people of the State of Qatar and on my own behalf, I would like to thank you for your greetings on the anniversary of Qatar's National Day, which I appreciate, and extend to Your Excellency my best wishes for your well-being and further prosperity and progress of your brotherly people, asserting our desire to further strengthen the bilateral relations between our two countries in the years ahead.
