Samger end winless streak As Biko subdue to Real de Banjul

Super Cup champions Samger beat Africell Sait Matty 2-1 to earn their first win in seven matches as week ten matches in The Gambia Football Association First Division League ended last evening.

Samger scored a goal in each half to seal a vital win that pushed them away from the drop zone. Goalkeeper Madi Camara fired the academy boys ahead when he scored from a penalty spot in the first half, but Sait Matty relied on Camara's second half grave mistake to level the score in the second half.

Goalkeeper Camara's blind kick struck against Sait Matty player to bounce back into his own net. However, Sait Matty's hope of collecting their first point in as many matches was dashed in the 80th minutes when Lamin Samateh sealed the tie for the Samger. The setback means the Africell sponsored side remain at the bottom rock with only 9 points in 10 matches.

In the day's other match at the Brikama Mini-stadium, Real de Banjul put an end to Steve Biko's good run of form with a 1-0 victory. Abdoulie Sanyang scored the only goal in the 52nd minutes to seal the win that sent Pa Samba Mbenga's Real de Banjul to fifth position with 14 points.
