Sonofman sets to visit Gambia

Thursday, January 29, 2009
Sonofman, one of United Kingdom's original artists is set to visit the Smiling Coast of The Gambia prior to the launch of his worldwide album.

Sonofman first visited The Gambia in February 2005 to attend his sister's wedding. A press release from Sonofman stated  "the socially responsible artist, Somofman is happiest when simply playing to and for his fans and people as a whole. During his weeklong stay in the country, the star will be busy on his new project,  playing guitar.  His first radio interview was with DJ Fireman of West Coast Radio, who described him as UK's Bob Marley."

However, the release continues, "his much anticipated debut album, which he composed from  just his guitar  features the lucky Dube tribute track "ciceron to Soweto. His songs reflect life's tenderness, passion, compassion and revolution," the release added.  Set to a mixture of reggae; rock and easy listening ballads, recorded with life band in London, Sonofman financed, released and distributed in his own label.

The release further went on " This entrepreneurial dreadlock revolutionary's mission is to leave behind a better world than the one he inherited; a weapon just like his guitar and song," the release concluded.
