Tina Faal commends President Jammeh

africa » gambia
Wednesday, April 15, 2009
Hon. Tina Faal, nominated National Assembly member, has commended His Excellency Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, President of the Republic of The Gambia for the recent victory of the Gambian team in the African U-17 Championship held in Algeria.

Hon. Faal also expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to President Jammeh for giving D1M to each of the U-17 players and some Gambia Football Association (GFA) officials. She made these remarks last Thursday during an interview with the Daily Observer at her residence in Brusubi.

According to Hon. Tina Faal, President Jammeh has once again demonstrated his relentless resolve towards supporting the hard working, patriotic and peace loving Gambians. "Indeed the president has shown his magnanimity and generosity and I think this gesture is a clear testimony of his willingness to support Gambians and to improve the livelihood of the citizens of this country," the APRC parliamentarian noted.

She further commended President Jammeh for his tireless efforts in empowering women and girls of this country and for transforming The Gambia into a modern state. Hon. Faal finally prayed for the U-17 team to win the Junior World Cup, to be held in Nigeria in October 2009.
