Top Class: A new prize in support of effective teachers

To encourage the performance and effectiveness of teachers towards Education for All.

UNESCO and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Minister of Finance and Industry of the Emirates and Deputy Ruler of Dubai, have established the "UNESCO Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers."

The Prize will award three candidates every two years with US $90,000 each, for outstanding practice and performance in enhancing the effectiveness of teachers. Priority will be given to developing countries and marginalized or disadvantaged communities. Candidates must be in the ministries of education or other related ministries (eg. Gender, youth, social), International  Non -Governmental Organisations (INGOs).
