Toubabo scores, but struggling Mons sink

Monday, February 23, 2009
Mustapha 'Toubabo' Jarju scored his 6th goal of the season for Reac Mons on Saturday but wasn't enough to avoid a 12th league defeat of the season away to bottom side Roeselare in the Belgian 'Jupiler Pro League'.

'Toubabo' equalized for Mons from the penalty spot after Roeselare defender Jay brought down Ten Heuvel in the box in the 68th minute. Mons then took the lead two minutes later on the break and looked to be cruising onto an important victory with only five minutes remaining on the clock.

But they just couldn't keep their nerves and fall apart in the 85th and 87th minutes as the home side went away with all three points. Mons stayed second bottom on the 18 team table with only 17 points from 23 matches and are two points adrift of safety.
