Very informative!

Editor,

I have recently discovered your online edition, and as a visitor to The Gambia on a yearly basis I find it to be very informative of the important issues in your country, as well as for it providing more light hearted information.

Despite the number of holidaymakers from the UK that visit The Gambia, I am afraid to say that very little is known about your country in the UK, and therefore the recent reporting of the jailing of the 2 British Citizens was, in my view, done in an ignorant and irresponsible way. After all, these people broke the laws of your country and therefore deserved to be punished.

There are wider issues to consider, but in the UK maybe we should uphold our own laws just as vigorously.

Finally, I must congratulate the people of The Gambia for their willingness to embrace other cultures and for making visitors feel very welcome. I look forward to seeing some of you in a few weeks time.
