Video halls ordered to register

The department of state for Communiction, Information and Information Technology (DoSCIIT) has ordered all video owners in the country to register their video halls with immediate effect.

This order is contained a in a press release sent to the Daily Observer by the department. Bellow is a reproduction of the full text of the release. The general public is hereby informed that all video halls in the country should be registered. Video hall operators/proprietors are requested to register with the department of state for Communication, Information and Information Technology (DoSCIIT) with immediate effect.

Registration forms are available at the department of state for Communication, Information and Information Technology, New GRTS Building, Kanifing.  The registration fee is D1000 (one thousand dalasis) per year, and is payable to the Gambia Revenue Authority. Registration forms can be collected from this department of state between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm, Monday to Thursday, and  8:00am to 12:30pm on Fridays.

Failure to register your video hall could lead to a complete closure of your business and necessary actions will be taken against the proprietor. Last date for registration is 15th February 2009.

The cooperation of all video hall operators/proprietors is highly solicited.
