Wallidan face Samger; As GFA League enters eighth week

africa » gambia
Tuesday, March 17, 2009
GFA First Division League action resumes today with a passionate fixture at Manjai Kunda mini-stadium and a more restrained affair at the Independence Stadium between Steve Biko and stumbling Hawks.

Wallidan's derby fixture with Samger at the Brikama mini-stadium could provide the most entertainment of the day, while Africell-Sait Matty battle it out with Gamtel at the Serrekunda East mini-stadium. Armed Forces will have their tails up on Thursday, after a 1-0 win against Sait Matty in the weekend sent them to the summit of the league table with a two-point lead.

The Soldiers take on Brikama United at the Father Gough complex at Manjai, while Bakau United will be hoping to put their season back on track when they meet struggling Tallinding United at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium. Bakau United enjoyed a fiery start to the season, but after two successive defeats in the past week, the Bakau side  saw themselves slip to joint second with 11 points in seven matches.

See below for the collated fixtures and standings
