More messages of felicitation have been flooding into State House from leaders around the world, congratulating the Gambian leader on the occasion of the 44th independence anniversary of The Gambia.

The latest to have arrived came from the leaders of Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of Croatia, and Abdelaziz Bouteflika of  Algeria.

Writing from Germany, Horst Kohler, President of the Federal Republic of Germany writes:

On the occasion of the national day in the Republic of The Gambia, allow me to offer you and the Gambian people my sincere congratulations on behalf of my fellow Germans.

For the future, I wish you and your compatriots sustained success in achieving economic and social progress as well as in combating poverty.
I am confident that the friendly relations our countries enjoy will continue to thrive over the years to come.

Stjepan Mesic, president of the Republic of Croatia writes:
On the occasion of the independence day of the Republic of The Gambia, I am pleased to extend to you and your people my most cordial congratulations and those of the citizens of the Republic of Croatia, as well as best wishes for the prosperity of your country and its citizens.
