Momodou Turo Darboe, a prominent businessman and philantropist, residing in Fajikunda, on Tuesday, gave 227 rams to poor and needy Muslims as a Tobaski gift at a ceremony held at the Abuko Livestock Centre.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Darboe said he has been rendering such assistance to the poor and needy over the years and promised to continue with the gesture. He described his efforts as a complement to Prophet Muhammed's teachings.

Yankuba Colley, outgoing acting mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council who graced the occassion, commended Turo Darboe for the kind gesture and called on others to emulate him in supporting the poor and the needy.

Momodou Manka Jallow, programme officer at Vision Development Foundation, also thanked Turo Darboe for rendering a 'benovolent' gesture to poor and needy Muslims.

Sally Suso, a beneficiary also expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to Mr Darboe for supporting them.
