A hit-and-run accident was reported on Sunday, March 16 at about 19:25 hrs in Abuko, around the Gamtel Earth Station, Kombo North District, Western Region. According to a press release from the Gambia Police Force, a gentleman named Papa Ndure Sanyang was knocked down by a vehicle and was pronounced dead at RVTH.

However, the registration number of the vehicle was not known as well as the direction the driver was going since there was no eyewitness to give a precise description of the vehicle.

The driver of the said vehicle is advised to come forward and report himself to the nearest police station.

Furthermore, the general public is urged to help the police in tracing this vehicle and its driver.

Vehicle "panel beaters and mechanics" are equally urged to report any fault detected on such area of any vehicle before starting repair works, to the nearest police station .
