Sainabou Wadda Ceesay, acting principal magistrate of the Kanifing Magistrates Court on Tuesday, convicted one Omar Kanteh and sentenced him to one year imprisonment with hard labour without any option of a fine.

It was said that on 15 May 2008 at Super Bar in the Kanifing Municipality, Omar Kanteh unlawfully robbed one Isatou Senghore of her belongings valued at D10,550. Despite his plea for mitigation, the magistrate sentenced him accordingly.
