10 docked for stealing at GCAAWednesday, May 16, 2012 Ten people, namely, Ebrima S. Bojang, Lamin Marong, Ebrima Dahaba, Lamin Dahaba, Musa Nyabally, Sainey Tamba, Kebba Badjie, Malang Sonko, Sedia Sanyang and Ebrima Nyabally, Monday 14th May, 2012, appeared before the Brikama Magistrates’ Court presided over by Principal Magistrate Hilary Abeke.The accused persons are charged with two counts of criminal offences, trespass on the airport and stealing contrary to Laws of The Gambia. One count one, the particulars of offence stated that on or about the 1st January 2012 around the hours of 18:00pm at the Banjul International Airport, the accused persons entered the airport premises of the Gambia Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) with intent to commit an offence. On count two, the particulars of the offence revealed that in the same month, day and place, the accused persons stole from an Aircraft, aluminum scrap metal valued at US$1M equivalent to 30 million dalasis, being the property of Slok Airlines The Gambia Limited, thereby committed an offence. When the charges were read to the accused persons, they all pleaded not guilty.However, the magistrate in his ruling, ordered for the accused persons to be remanded in prison custody until the next adjourned date.
