12 in court for attack on police officers

One Buba Singhateh and eleven others, were recently arraigned before Principal Magistrate Kayode Olajubutu of the Bundung Magistrate, charged with assaulting four police officers and behaving in a manner that breached the peace.

The twelve were said to have on the 29th of August 2009 at Wellingara, Kombo North jointly assaulted the four officers, and also conducted themselves in a disorderly manner at the Wellingara police station.

They however refuted the charges. They were granted bail each in the sum of D20,000 with one Gambian surtety. The case was adjourned to 13 October 2009. Corporal 134 Sambou stood in for the IGP.
