12 yrs for manslaughter convictWednesday, September 30, 2009 Justice Moses Richard of the special criminal court, last Monday, convicted and sentenced one Basirou Baldeh of Basse in URR to serve 12 years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter. The convict had first been charged for the murder of his brother, one Babucarr Jallow, but that charge was later changed to a manslaughter charge following the approval of the attorney general and minister of Justice. The accused was said to have killed his brother by hitting him on the head with a hard object on the 20th of October 2008 in Basse Angal Futa, URR.
