The convict had first been charged for the murder  of his brother, one Babucarr Jallow, but that charge was later changed to a manslaughter charge following the approval of the attorney general and minister of Justice. The accused was said to have killed his brother by hitting him on the head with a hard object on the 20th of October 2008 in Basse Angal Futa, URR.
