Abdoulie Barry, a native of Bundung Central is in urgent need of assistance to
undergo an overseas treatment. According
to a medical report issued from the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH),
Abdoulie Barry was received at the Department of Pediatrics about 14 months ago
with eight months history of bilateral neck swelling which has been increasing
progressively in size with pain. The report added that the pain has been intermittent and there is history of cough and weight losing. The report stated that, the patient left cervical swells and measured about 6cm x 4cm x 2cm, the swelling were firm to hard immobile and attached to the overlying skin and has axillary lymphnodes To heal Abdoulie, the report revealed that he needs to undergo further evaluations with a lymphoscintigraphic scan towards achieving a deformitive intervention with an involved field radiotherapy, multimodal intensive chemotherapy and adjuvant surgical intervention. This treatment, according to the medical report can only be done overseas. Speaking to the Daily Observer with tears running down her face Fansainey Danso, the mother of the patient lamented that she is a single mother and does not have the financial means to support her son. She therefore appealed to individuals, NGOs, government, public and private sectors to help save the life of her son.
