16 'terrorists' in courtThursday, June 11, 2009 16 people were arraigned before the Principal Magistrate of the Brikama Magistrates Court on 10 June, 2009. The 16 people are facing charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2002. According to the particulars, the sixteen were found conducting themselves in a manner that would have destabilised the economic, political and socio-economic well being of the Gambia. The incident is said to happened in Dasilameh and in diverse places in the Western Region of The Gambia. They all pleaded not guilty to the charge. The principal Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh, adjourned the case to 24 June, 2009. Meanwhile the accused persons have been remanded at the State Central Prison.
