1st prosecution witness testifies in house breaking case

The ongoing criminal trial involving one Ismaila Gaswel Ngum on Tuesday, resumes at the Kanifing Magistrate court, as Cadet Inspector Mbalow calls on his first prosecution witness.

Testifying before magistrate B.O. Jobe, Abdoulie Fula Barry informed the court that he recalled on the 4th of June 2009. According to him, the accused to his house in the early hours of 4am in Serrekunda  and tried to break the door of his house while he was sleeping. he told the court that he confidentially work up from his bed and got hold of his leg firmly and then shouted for help. He added that the companion ran away as people began coming to his aid.

He further told the court that he informed one Pa Jallow an elderly man in the area who then advice him to keep the accused till after fajir prayer. He finally told the Serrekunda police station who came and arrest the accused. The accused is facing two charges of stealing and house breaking. He denied any wrong doing.
