Two members of the 'Green Youth', an action oriented movement of the APRC Youth Wing have been made nominated members of the National Assembly.

Sainey Chatty and Aji Fatou Jeng have all confirmed the development to this reporter.

It is a constitutional requirement for the president of the Republic to nominate five people to add onto the 48 elected members to make-up 53 members of the legislative body.

When contacted, Sainey Chatty who identified himself as the ‘commander’ of the Green Youth said he appreciated the nomination, which he said came to him as surprise. “I have never expected it, even though I have been doing volunteerism for my country and my president for the past 15 years,” he said. Hon. Chatty disclosed that he received his letter of nomination last Friday .
