2 Premier Security Service officials docked for stealing

Two Premier Security Service officials were on Saturday, July 18, 2009, arraigned before Magistrate Basirou Mahoney of the Brikama Magistrates Court on two counts of house breaking and stealing.

The two, Dennis Micheal and Alhaji Modou Cham, were alleged to have broken into the house of one Klaas Hielkema on May 4, 2009 at Brusubi, Kombo North District, and stolen items valued at D90,530.

In his testimony, Amadou Jallow, the Operations manager of Premier Security Service company, said the said company signed a contract with Ballast Nedam, for whom the complainant Klaas Hielkema woks. He further explained that the complainant's compound was being provided with security on 24 hours basis.

Jallow said the 2nd accused was on the permanent morning shift at the complainant's residence whilst the 1st accused is a 'reliever' for two Ballast Nedam compound in Brusubi.  The witness disclosed that the 1st accused was on night duty on the day the incident happened and since that day, he did not turn up for work and has still not collected his April salary. The witness said when he was informed about the break-in, he contacted one Harrietta Sonko who was in charge of the security personnel and  later reported the matter to the Old Yundum Police Station.

The witness said he later visited the scene and noticed that a window had been broken and several items, including a musical system, satellite receiver, and a DVD player, were stolen. Jallow said he then contacted Premium TV and informed them about the incident.  Mr Jallow further said whilst he was in his office, he received a phone call requesting him to go to the Premium Office, where it was confirmed that they had seen the satellite receiver belonging to the complainant, Klass Hielkema.

Jallow also disclosed that one Ousman Sanneh confirmed that it was the 1st accused, Dennis Michael, who gave him the satellite receiver to sell. The witness concluded that Dennis Micheal was later arrested and that he (Micheal) confessed that he committed the act with the 2nd accused, Alhaji Modou Cham and one Mbaye Bojang.
